I get an application?
Applications are available at all Hawaii Catholic schools.
Who is
eligible for a scholarship?
All
students (grades K-12) who will attend a Hawaii Catholic
School during the 2012-13 school year.
You don’t have to be
currently enrolled to apply for a scholarship, but you do
need to be officially enrolled at the time the scholarship
is awarded.
How much
are the scholarships?
The
amount of the tuition scholarship varies from year to
year. For the 2011-12 school year, the scholarships awarded
were $1,000 (grades K-8) and $1,250 (grades
9-12).
Do I
have to make a certain amount of money to apply for a
scholarship?
No, any
family can apply for a scholarship.
A priority is given to
financially needy families.
What if
I am applying for more than one student?
One
application per family please, even if the children attend
different schools.
Do I
have to be Catholic to apply?
No. The
Foundation does not discriminate on the basis of religion or
race.
Can
students from public schools apply?

have to pay $17.00?
To cover
the cost of processing and evaluating your family’s
scholarship application by Private School Aid Service.
Do I
have to pay the $17.00 fee for each student applicant?
Fees are
assessed on a per family basis, not a per student basis. A
family with two or more student applicants, would still pay
$17.00.

I cannot afford to pay the $17.00 processing fee?
Please
call the Foundation directly.
When do
I find out if I will receive a scholarship?
All
applicants will be notified by letter on or shortly after
the announced date in April if they will or will not receive a scholarship.
Late applications and applications sent directly to Private
School Aid Service will not be considered. All must have the

Will I
receive a check for the scholarship if I am approved?
The
scholarship check will be sent directly to your child’s
